Butternut Mountain Farm is one of the largest packers of pure maple syrup in the United States. We operate a year-round food manufacturing and packaging facility in Morrisville, Vermont.
We're looking for experienced production employees who want more than just a job running the same machine every day.

Our production environment can change throughout the day. Priorities shift, schedules change, equipment needs attention, and employees may be asked to move between jobs or work areas. You need to be comfortable multitasking, changing direction, solving problems, and continuing to work safely and accurately when the plan changes.
Requirements:
What You'll Be Doing
· Operate, set up, clean, and support food production and packaging equipment
· Perform production tasks safely, accurately, and efficiently
· Monitor equipment, materials, product flow, and finished product quality
· Identify problems or inconsistencies and communicate them promptly
· Complete basic production records and computer/data-entry tasks
· Support syrup handling, barrel washing, packaging, and related production operations
· Move between tasks or work areas as production priorities change
· Cross-train on multiple processes and pieces of equipment
· Learn from experienced employees and, as your skills develop, help train and support others
· Participate in continuous improvement by identifying better, safer, or more efficient ways to perform the work
What We're Looking For
Required:
· Previous manufacturing or production experience
· Dependable attendance and punctuality
· Ability to work safely around production machinery
· Ability to follow written procedures, quality requirements, and production instructions
· Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and adjust to changing priorities
· Willingness and ability to learn new equipment, processes, and responsibilities
· Constructive attitude and ability to work effectively with different personalities
· Ability to accept feedback, learn from mistakes, and improve
· Willingness to cross-train and help others learn
· Basic computer and data-entry skills
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for a 10-hour shift
· Ability to safely access, operate, adjust, and clean production equipment throughout the workday
· Must be at least 18 years old

Schedule
· Schedule and Flexibility
· First Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
o Enjoy early afternoons and three-day weekends (Friday–Sunday)
· Second Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
o (Not currently hiring for second shift, but let us know if you're interested for future openings)
Additional Notes:
o Depending on your role, occasional overtime or early arrivals may be required.
o We do our best to offer overtime on a voluntary basis, but there may be times when mandatory overtime is necessary—particularly on Fridays.
o Flexible workdays may occasionally be needed due to weather, building closures, or other unexpected events.
Planned Downtime and Alternative Work Opportunities:
· During the first week of July, production shuts down. If you don’t have enough personal time to cover that week, we offer the opportunity to help with gardening, landscaping, building maintenance, or even working at the farm managing maple taps.
